I have always seemed to have a knack for all types of crafts, but while I enjoyed the creative process and the finished product, most of them felt more like a chore than an enjoyable hobby. So I was constantly looking for the next thing to try. Knitting was something that I had always wished that I could do, but thought would be "too hard" to learn. In the fall of 2008, I read a blog where the author spoke of watching "how-to" knitting videos and teaching herself to knit. I had never thought to look for videos before!
I picked up my first knitting needles in October 2008. Slowly, with cheap, nasty yarn, the wrong needles, and some online videos, I began knitting. And it clicked! I just "got it". The process was enjoyable and didn't feel chore-like at all. By December I was making hats, bags, and even socks! Then I got a request for a knitted bag, but I couldn't find a pattern that was quite was I was looking for, so I decided to make one myself. The Bri Bag was born and so was my designing career.
I have a beautiful family who are my support system and willing models and we live in South Florida just a few miles from the beautiful beaches.
